Advantages of electrodialysis water treatment technology

Electrodialysis is a membrane separation technology that uses the selective permeability of the ion exchange membrane as the driving force of the potential difference to separate the salt of the charged component from the water of the non-charged component. This technology uses the characteristics of the ion exchange membrane. The water gets desalinated and desalinated. Electrodialysis water treatment technology was first used for the treatment of Kuwei water, and then gradually expanded to the application of seawater desalination and the production of industrial pure water.
Compared with ion exchange technology, electrodialysis technology has the following advantages:
1. Low energy consumption: The electrodialyzer does not undergo a phase change during operation, but uses electrical energy to transfer dissociated ions in the water. The electricity it consumes is generally proportional to the salt content in the water. Most people believe that electrodialysis is a more economical technology with less energy consumption for changes in brackish water with a salt content of 4000~5000mg/below.
2. Low chemical consumption and low environmental pollution: ion exchange technology needs a large amount of acid and alkali to regenerate after resin exchange fails, and a large amount of waste acid and alkali are discharged during water washing, while electrodialysis system only needs a small amount of acid during acid washing.
3. The equipment is simple and easy to operate: the electrodialyzer is assembled with a plastic separator and an ion exchange membrane agent electrode plate. Its main supporting equipment is relatively simple, and the membrane and separator are made of polymer materials. Therefore, the resistance to chemical pollution and corrosion are better. Fresh water can be obtained when electricity is applied during operation, and there is no need for complicated regeneration treatment with acid and alkali.
